University Park Elementary is the neighborhood school, which is a community comprised of engaged students, great teachers, staff and leaders, and involved families who all work together to make UPark one of the best schools in Denver. In fact, in the fall of 2019, we were ranked 12th among all Metro Denver elementary schools by the Denver Business Journal. UPark prides itself on what they do to nurture the development of the whole child. Physical fitness, wellness, the arts, and technology are all integral and valued parts of the UPark educational experience. All of our students attend PE, art, drama, music, and library on a weekly basis
Neighborhood Middle School
At Merrill Middle School, they put individuals first by cultivating a safe and inclusive environment by intentionally supporting the whole person through equity, social-emotional learning, academics, and joy to achieve success now and in the future. From real-world and engaging project-Based Learning, gifted and talented programming, additional mental health staff, to student interests driving our clubs/sports and robust elective offerings, they believe in supporting the whole child. Their dedicated and caring staff are connected to our mission and vision of supporting every individual. Each community member comes with their own unique brilliance, and they are grateful for the entire Merrill family.
Although it is the newest of the directional high schools, Denver South High School has a tradition that stretches back to Denver’s earliest days. Like East, South High School developed out of Denver City’s Union School. In 1907, a separate junior and senior high school was added to Grant School. Although the school was still part of Grant, it was unofficially known as the Denver South Side High School. Grant High School officially became Denver South High School in 1926, when the high school portion of Grant was selected to become part of the Denver City Beautiful project. The building is inspired by the Basilica of Santa Maria Cosmedin in Rome, a church famous for housing the skull of St. Valentine.

The University Light Rail Station is steps away as well as Observatory Park and Washington Park.
Denver’s Cherry Creek North neighborhood, located just four miles north of Observatory Park, is unlike any other neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. This vibrant, walkable community encompasses more than 16-blocks and is home to over 300 businesses, making Cherry Creek North a destination in itself! Located just outside of Downtown Denver, the Cherry Creek neighborhood is a fabulous area boasting loads of local restaurants, art galleries, spas, the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, and a fabulous boutique hotel.
